Restorative yoga aligns the body and mind with gentle movements and holding positions. It is often called "sleepy" yoga, because it is great to do before bed. It opens the body through passive stretching using props. Poses are held for longer periods of time allowing the muscles to deeply relax. Restorative Yoga quiets and calms the mind, which reduces anxiety, stress, and insomnia. It is great for beginners, seniors, and busy moms. Restorative yoga is a wonderful way to find physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.

Beer Yoga
This is pure fun! It is just as it sounds... yoga while drinking beer! Because, who wants to wait until after a yoga class to indulge in a frosty beverage?! Balancing the beer will be incorporated into the stretches and poses! But nothing too crazy or strenuous. We are drinking while doing yoga after all. This means that there are no down dogs, headstands, or inversions. Everything is done while standing or on the floor. There will be no upside down poses in hopes to eliminate any beer belches during practice!

Aerial Yoga
Aerial Yoga combines traditional yoga poses with postures practiced using a silk hammock. It helps to deepen postures and range of motion. My classes consist mostly of aerial yoga flows, individual poses. There are some some inversions (hanging upside down) and suspensions (tricks!) But nothing too crazy.
Who benefits from aerial yoga?
Anyone experiencing the following:
-
Increases flexibility
-
Deepens stretching
-
Builds strength (arm & core)

Aerial Restorative yoga is the best of both worlds and is extremely relaxing. The silk hangs lower to the ground and aides in the holding positions. Props like bolsters, and blocks are also used during the longer hold of postures. Stress and anxiety will melt away!

Other Types of yoga
Vinyasa Flow - A method of yoga in which movements form a flowing sequence in coordination of breath.
Gentle Yoga - A safe and gentle approach to moving the body, breathing, and stretching. This is great for all levels and ages, including moms to be and recovering athletes.
Yin - A slow paced style of yoga with postures that are held for longer periods of time. Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body, including tendons, fascia, and ligaments. This increases circulation in the joints and improves flexibility.
